They will explore the great outdoors through fun scavenger hunts and team challenges. \n  \nJuly 14 – 18: STEM In Action \nCampers will jump into the world of STEM\, exploring hands-on activities that spark creativity and critical thinking. They will tackle creative problem-solving tasks that bring their innovative ideas to life. \n  \nJuly 21 – 25: Festival of Fun \nCampers will explore carnival-inspired games\, arts and crafts\, and friendly competitions. From designing their own festival merch to participating in wacky relay races. Campers will finish the week with mini games and prizes. \n  \nJuly 28 – August 1: Quest for the Cup \nCampers will channel their inner athlete through a week full of exciting sports and team challenges. They will focus on enhancing their skills and developing strategies for the ultimate camp-wide tournament. \n  \nAugust 5 – 8*: Walk of Fame \nCampers will step into the spotlight and experience the stardom of Hollywood. Campers will participate in red carpet events and take part in acting and performance-based games. The week concludes with an award ceremony and movie screening. \n*This week contains a statutory holiday. HYPE Summer Camp will not be running on the Civic Holiday (August 4). \n  \nAugust 11 – 15: Around the World \nCampers will embark on a world tour without leaving camp. Each day\, campers will discover a new country or region through international sports\, cultural games\, and iconic crafts. Campers will experience the diversity of the world while creating memories along the way. \n  \nAugust 18 – 22: Splash of Colour \nCampers will dive into a week of vibrant creativity and teamwork. They will explore different art forms\, from tie-dye to creating colourful murals. The week culminates in a fun-filled water day\, where campers will splash around in water-themed colour challenges. \n  \n  \nImportant Information \nAge Requirements\nHYPE Summer Camp is available to children ages 8-12. Participants must be at least 8 years age of before the first day of Camp. \n  \nWhat to Bring to Camp\nPlease send participants with the following:\n•Lunch and snacks (nut-free)\n•Refillable water bottle\n•Sunscreen\n•Hat\n•Extra clothing (if needed) \n  \nLunches and Snacks\nParticipants are expected to bring their own lunches\, snacks\, and drinks every day. We are a nut-sensitive environment\, so please avoid packing any nuts or nut products. No alternative lunches will be available. \n  \nCancellation Policy\nRegistration fees for HYPE Summer Camp must be paid in full via e-transfer at the time of registration. Cancellations must be made in writing at least 2 weeks before the cancelled week\, with no refunds for late cancellations. Additionally\, no refunds are given for late arrival\, early departure\, withdrawal\, or dismissal. Medical cancellations may be considered\, with refunds provided for major illness\, injury\, or serious family situations. \n  \nMedia Policy\nParents/guardians may give consent for photos to be taken of the participants attending camp; this could be them engaging in some activity\, showing off a craft that they’ve created\, or having fun with others. If parents/guardians give consent\, these photos may be used as promotional materials. \n  \nPick Up and Drop Off \nDCHC asks parents and guardians to identify who is authorized to pick up the participant from HYPE Summer Camp. This will allow us to make necessary arrangements for your camper’s care until you arrive. \n  \nWhat if someone else will be picking up my camper?\nIf someone other than the individuals listed at the point of registration will be picking up your camper\, please notify the camp staff. If an unauthorized person arrives to pick up your camper\, we will contact you for verbal approval before allowing the release of your camper. \n  \nWhat should my camper leave at home?\nWe kindly request that campers leave toys\, electronics\, and other valuable items at home. HYPE Summer Camp is not responsible for lost or damaged items. \n  \nHow do I get the subsidized rate?\nTo receive the subsidized rate\, you must meet specific eligibility criteria based on financial eligibility and social/situational factors. Our camp operates within the scheduled hours\, and we ask that caregivers pick up their campers at the end of the day. \nWhat should my camper bring for lunch?\nPlease pack a lunch that doesn’t require refrigeration or microwaving\, and consider using an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack to keep food fresh. We encourage reusable containers to reduce waste. Pack any needed utensils\, as we do not provide them. Water is provided at any point during the day\, so please send a refillable water bottle with your camper.
