“Every Child Matters”- pop culture slogan or creating systemic changes?

September 29, 2025 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Price: Free

“Every Child Matters”- pop culture slogan or creating systemic changes? What does it really mean? And what has changed.

Join the Indigenous Team for September’s Land Back Speaker Series. Hosted by John Kane, the discussion focuses on the slogan “Every Child Matters” and asks important questions about the movement.

Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 to raise awareness about the impacts of residential schools. “Every Child Matters” is used to promote the message of ‘reconciliation.’ But what is reconciliation? And what has changed?

Has the “Every Child Matters” movement been co-opted? If so, by whom? Is Orange Shirt Day a day for social justice action? Or, is the cause being forgotten?

You are invited to come and join us with John Kane to hear his words on the subject, the day, and what we should be demanding.

This event can be attended in person, where dinner will be served, or you can join us virtually.
