2SLGBTQI Health & Wellness

At Durham Community Health Centre, we believe that every individual deserves access to compassionate care, support, and resources to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. We are proud to extend our unwavering support to the 2SLGBTQI community, fostering a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Our commitment to promoting holistic well-being goes beyond clinical care, encompassing a range of events and activities designed to bring the community together and challenge negative stigmas.

Clinical Care

Our Gender Care Team includes a Nurse Practitioner and Systems Navigator who provide gender transition related care and services within a holistic framework for a time-limited length of service.

Activities and Workshops

We offer a diverse range of activities and workshops that focus on providing support, based on the unique needs of the 2SLGBTQI community. These activities and workshops promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including support groups, counseling services, mindfulness workshops, and fitness activities. See below for details on current and upcoming activities and workshops.

Community Events

We organize and attend a variety of events that celebrate the vibrancy and resilience of the 2SLGBTQI community. These events serve as safe spaces for connection, self-expression, and education. Examples include Pride celebrations, book clubs, and guest speaker series.

Outreach and Advocacy

We actively engage with the wider community, collaborating with local organizations, schools, and businesses to raise awareness about the issues affecting the 2SLGBTQI community. Through outreach and advocacy efforts, we aim to create a more inclusive and accepting society for all.
