Indigenous Health & Wellness

At Durham Community Health Centre (DCHC), we understand the vital importance of building trust within the Indigenous Community so that members feel comfortable to come to us for support with their health and wellness.

We work with leaders in the Indigenous Community to guide us in hosting workshops, events and activities that bring community members together and promote hope, belonging, meaning and purpose for Indigenous Peoples.

Activities, Events & Workshops

The Indigenous Team at DCHC hosts a wide variety of activities, events, and workshops for community members from our quarterly Big Drum Socials to Family Nights, Youth Groups, and Full Moon and Sunrise Ceremonies. See below for current and upcoming activities and events for our Indigenous Health & Wellness Program.

Indigenous Counselling and Support Services

Through a partnership with Enaahtig Healing Lodge, our Indigenous Child & Youth Mental Health and Addictions Worker offers counselling and support for children up to 12 years of age and their families.

Our Indigenous Health Promoter and Community Facilitator facilitate a variety of programs for youth and families. Please call 905-723-0036 x 1222 for more details.
