Karenniyo is from the Mohawk Nation, Sha’tekarihwate Turtle Clan Family from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, they is a learner/speaker of the Mohawk language and works in community language revitalization efforts.
Karenniyo is active in the Mohawk Longhouse at Six Nations and spent the last several years researching Haudenosaunee life stages, including the responsibilities of men and women at various stages of life.
