Namebine Giizis (Sucker Moon) Full Moon Ceremony

Join the Indigenous Team at DCHC for Namebine Giizis (Sucker Moon) Full Moon Ceremony with special guest Sitting Turtle (Kelly Lavalee)! Namebine Giizis (Sucker Moon) is when the sucker fish goes to the Spirit world to receive direction on cleansing this world.

They return to the physical realm to purify the path for Spirits and cleanse the waters of earth. It also speaks to the sacrifice of the sucker fish, who give their lives in the months of January and February for the benefit of the Anishinaabe.
